Keep things simple

The easiest kind of event to put together is a small breakfast/lunch/coffee gathering for local Notion users. Choose a favorite cafe, co-working space or restaurant, email out invites and the magic begins โœจ

Share some swag

Let us know, and we'll equip you with some Notion swag to pass out. Please make your requests here. If you have an event coming up soon and haven't received your swag, send us a note at ben@makenotion.com.
ย

Tip 1: Start a Meetup page for your city or school.

Set up a page on Meetup.com. Here's an example.
(Email our offline community leader Ben if you need help!)
If you'd prefer to start with a different service (i.e. public Notion page, Facebook event), you're welcome to do so.
ย
Tip 2: Pick an event style.
ย

Tip 3: Communicate early and often.

  1. Choose a date and location.
  1. Create an event page for it on Meetup.com advertising the format that you chose. Here's a good example from Denver.
  1. Send out an initial email to potential attendees to promote your event.
    1. Sample text
      Subject: Notion meetup?
      Hey thereโ€‹,
We're hosting a little get together for the Notion community in San Diego on March 28, and we'd be delighted to have you join us. ๐ŸŽ‰
We've had a lot of interest in this, so space is limited. More details here [MEETUP LINK]ย โ€” let us know if you can make it.
      Hope to see you there,
      [YOUR NAME]
  1. Send out reminder emails: We recommend two days before and the morning of the event. You can post reminders on your Meetup page, too!
  1. Here are some other recommendations for spreading the word:
      • Post on Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, or other social networks, tagging @notionhq. (That way we can see it and help you amplify!)
      • Share in Notion groups and forums. See the full list here.
      • Send an email blast to your personal contacts who might be interested.
      • Reach out to other groups to promote (i.e. a design community, productivity group, etc.).
      • Always let us know here at Notion by tagging or emailing us. We can probably help drum up more attendees :)
