Coffee Chat (1.5h+ or rolling)
What it looks like:
- Casual seating around a table so people can show off their workspaces.
- Taking turns to share, or discussing a specific topic (like how to build wikis, roadmaps, etc.).
Top tips:
- We recommend group discussions, so look for a cafe with ample seating and table space.
- Look for somewhere quiet, where people won't have to shout to be heard.
- You can also bring coffee to a more open venue, like a lawn on a campus, office cafeteria, etc.
- Coffee, of course, is not a requirement βοΈAny beverage (or snack) will do!
Pros:
- Quick + casual. Attendees can stop in for a few minutes and roll out whenever they want.
- It's easy for people to sit in a circle, show each other what's up on their own laptops, and give each other thoughtful feedback/ideas.
Cons:
- Being at the mercy of the cafe means that there will be less structure than you might have at a privately hosted event.
- Depending on the size, some people may not get the chance to share.
