You can earn credits that cover the cost of paid Notion plans — and even making them free for certain periods of time. You can earn credit by using Notion features. Below is a full guide to how this works 💰

Earn credit

You can earn credit towards upgrading to a paid subscription by completing any of the tasks below:

Log in on the web: Sign into Notion from any web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Safari for example) to earn $5 of credit.

Log in on the desktop app: Install our Mac app or Windows app and log in to earn $5.

Log in on the mobile app: Install our iOS app or Android app and log in to earn $5.

Migrate from Evernote: Import your Evernote notes and notebooks to earn $5 toward your Notion plan.

Use Web Clipper for Chrome: Install the Web Clipper extension for Chrome and save your first link for $3.

Use Web Clipper for mobile: Configure Web Clipper on your iOS or Android device, then save your first link to earn $3.

View your credit

You can easily check your total credit and the ways you can still earn credit.

Select Settings & Members toward the top of your left-hand sidebar.

Go to the Earn Credit section.

Completed credit tasks will show a circled check mark.

Your Total credit earned will appear at the bottom of the window.

Apply earned credit to upcoming payments

Log into the workspace where you'd like the credit applied.

Select Settings & Members toward the top of your left-hand sidebar.

Choose Billing in the sidebar of the new window.

Next to Balance, click Apply Credit.

Enter the amount of earned credit you'd like to use and click Apply.

Note: Credit can impact the amount you pay for Notion. If your balance on an invoice seems abnormal, consider whether credit was applied.

FAQs

What happened to the referral program?

You used to be able to refer friends to sign up for Notion to earn credit towards a paid subscription. We've discontinued this program as of May 19, 2020 since Notion's Personal Plan now includes unlimited content for free. But you can still complete any of the tasks in the Earn Credit section of Settings & Members to earn credit.

Any previous referrals (including pending ones) will still be honored.
